Made to Order - plain butter crock in 'vanilla bean'

A handmade ceramic butter crock (or "butter keeper"). These are wheel-thrown and made from lightly speckled, vanilla-coloured stoneware clay. They will be made without the croissants on both parts - please ignore these on the photos.

Capacity - the lid of the butter keeper will fit approximately 1/2 - 2/3 (170g) of a regular block of butter.

How to use a butter crock - spoon softened butter into the lid of the butter crock and make sure it's well packed. Add approx 1.5 inches of cold water to the base pot and place the lid containing the butter inside. The water should reach the bottom of the lid and create a seal which keeps butter fresh but at a spreadable temperature. Change the water every few days :)
