My journey into ceramics
Hi, I'm Jess, a self-taught potter making small batches of handmade ceramics from my small studio on a farm in Ardeley, Hertfordshire. I'm a one-man-band operation running my shop - designing, making, packing, dispatching and doing all the behind the scenes work too!
I started an evening pottery class in 2022 and immediately was determined to improve and see where it could go. After buying my own tiny wheel to practice on, I started selling my pieces just to "make room" to make more. This quickly turned into buying my own small kiln, setting up an online shop and now it's a part time job!
I hope one day to go full time in a home studio, but for now I'm enjoying my time in my small, rented farm studio and seeing how my pieces continue to evolve as I find my style.
When I'm not covered in clay, you'll find me in the gym, exploring nature, visiting the sea, or enjoying time with my partner and our rescue greyhound, Lily.
